St. Isidore was a humble farm laborer in Spain who lived a simple life centered on God, family, and honest work. Though he was poor, he was rich in faith and known for his deep trust in God’s providence.
Each day, Isidore began with prayer and Mass before going to the fields. Some criticized him for taking time to pray, but his life showed that putting God first never takes away from our work—it blesses it.
Tradition tells of miracles connected to his life, including angels helping him plow the fields while he prayed, and provisions multiplying to help the poor.
Together with his wife, St. Maria de la Cabeza, he lived a life of generosity, often sharing what little they had with those in need.
St. Isidore is a powerful reminder that holiness can be lived in ordinary work when it is offered to God with love.
