Who Was St. Cyril of Alexandria?

St. Cyril of Alexandria was a bishop, theologian, and Doctor of the Church who played an important role in defending the truth about Jesus Christ. He lived during a time when the Church was still working through major questions about how to explain the mystery of Christ clearly and faithfully.

Cyril became the bishop of Alexandria, one of the most important Christian centers of the ancient world. This role carried great responsibility.
